So I got a problem with my Mic, was really looking forward to talking to you guys.

I've got a Microsoft Lifechat X-3000 headset with built in mic. When i first installed the thing it worked perfectly and I used it to com with my Eve alliance and fend off many attacks on our space. But recently I had a hard drive crash on me. I bought a new hard drive and got an MSDN copy of Widnows 7 to install on it. I've reinstalled the drivers for the headset but for some reason it's not associating input/output with the headset. I've installed vent and several of the stalker/Sins of a Solar Empire games and not of them recognize the headset. I can go into the settings and select it and I can hear the beeps in the headset when I set volume but when I try to use it I just get dead air.

Any ideas?

Did you download the updated driver?

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downl ... =JUG-00001

Also, did you set the mic as the default input device in the sound settings in your Control Panel?
